We are very excited that we now have a departure date. We are planning on leaving for Southeast Asia on May 5! The location of our year-long internship has been finalized. We have received the information necessary to apply for visas and prepare for our move. God has shown His faithfulness in arranging all of the details.
We cannot wait to be a part of stories like this one we recently read on DOOR’s (Deaf Opportunity Outreach – a partner organization with Wycliffe) website about a Deaf man who had been transformed by seeing Bible stories translated into his sign language. As a boy, he was frequently suspended from school. He was rebellious and eventually even his parents kicked him out of their house. He was sent to live with his grandparents in a rural village due to his behavior. It was there that God met him and changed his life. He met some workers from DOOR. They left some DVDs of Bible stories at his new school. He spent his free time watching those stories and through them God spoke to him. He says “I remember crying out to God to forgive my sins, change my life, and make me a new person.” He then asked forgiveness from his friends, teachers, and parents. They saw that his life had really changed. Now, he works as one of the Deaf translators to make God’s word available so that more Deaf can encounter God the way he did. We are so encouraged to hear how God’s Word is transforming lives all around the world. – DOOR International – A Deaf translation organization
As we said, we are currently preparing for the visa applications. In order to allow enough time for our visas to be processed and for us to buy plane tickets, we found out we need 100% of our monthly budget pledged by the end of March. This will allow us to send in our visa application in time for our May 5 departure. We are currently at 73% of our monthly budget pledged. Please pray for us that God would work through His body to supply the remaining funds in the next 5 weeks.
Please also prayerfully consider joining our financial partnership team to enable us to go so that more lives can be transformed by His Word in the sign language of Deaf people’s heart! Join our team at: http://www.wycliffe.org/Partnership.aspx?mid=9D98B3
